Triops Cancriformis Beni Kabuto Egg Capsule – The red prehistoric shrimp from Japan!

Do you want to raise a striking and easy-to-care-for prehistoric shrimp? The Triops Cancriformis Beni Kabuto is an Asian variant related to the European Cancriformis. Because the blood of this species is reddish, it shines beautifully through the carapace, making it appear as if this 'Beni' has a unique red body! Naturally, during the Japanese rainy season, they primarily inhabit flooded rice paddies and calm ponds.

High life expectancy & Calm temperament

What makes the Beni Kabuto extra popular among breeders is its peaceful behavior. While some other Triops species tend towards cannibalism, the Beni Kabuto is incredibly tolerant of its conspecifics (provided there is enough food). Moreover, this species is among the longest-living Triops in the world: under good conditions, they can live as long as **90 to 120 days**!

Ideal for Room Temperature (No heavy heating required!)

While many exotic species require high temperatures, the Beni Kabuto feels perfectly at home at a mild water temperature between 19 °C and 24 °C. Normal room temperature is usually more than sufficient, making care extremely easy.

How does breeding work?

Fill a clean breeding tank with about 0.5 liters of still mineral water (such as Bar-le-Duc without carbonation) and add the breeding batch. Ensure the temperature remains between 19 and 24 °C and direct a light onto it for sufficient illumination. The first larvae will soon emerge! After the first day, you can carefully start feeding very small amounts of (finely ground) food.
